He lived with his grandmother on his fathers side for almost a year and half until his parents finally were able to obtained a Visa for him to come to the [[United States of America.]]
'''Jewels''' was determine to learn and speak the English language as student at the Brooks Hobbs Magnet School in [[Medford, Massachusetts]] where he attended the Six Grade. He learned the language by taking [[English as a second or foreign language|ESL classes]], watching [[Television|TV]] shows such as [[Sesame Street|Sesame street]] and so on. By the beginning of his [[Freshman]] year in [[High School]] Jewels could speak Fluent [[English language|English]].
Jewels began getting involved in [[Music]], towards the last few year of high school, so he started a small business where he would [[Disc jockey|DJ]] at family and friends wedding. He quickly became bored with that so he added Video, shot and filmed family and friends weddings.
By his his Senior in High school, Jewels started a small [[Music production (music industry)|music production]] company making beats and recording local talent. By the late 90’s he met a up and coming [[rapper]] by the name of Rick Hill who he started producing for Exclusively.
